Rental & Helium Use Information
Security Deposit
All helium tank rentals require a deposit of $100.00 for Small Tanks, $200 for Large Tanks. This refundable deposit can be left either in cash or on authorization only on any major charge or credit card. This fee will be returned/authorization cancelled once tank, equipment, inflators are returned in the same working & physical condition as when they were rented.
Accounts
Accounts are available to business clients with 3 months of pre-paid rentals, merchandise, and service. Invoices are based on a net 15. Credit application required and must be approved prior to first delivery. Approval takes 3-5 business days.
Delivery & Pickup Charges
Delivery and pickup charges are applicable to all orders unless client picks up an order at our store. We will arrange with you, at the time of your order, the time frame for pick-up of the tank & equipment within a three day period.
Restrictions on Deliveries
Due to updated constraints on insurance, NY Balloon & Basket Co. personnel are restricted from delivering or picking up helium tanks that requires them to go up or down any flight of stairs at any of our customer’s premises, both private and commercial. NY Balloon & Basket Co. personnel can ONLY deliver and pick up helium tanks to a main level receiving area at our customer’s premises, which will be coordinated between the customer and our driver.
Demurrage Charge
Normal rental period for retail sales is 3 days – tanks, equipment, etc. held past the three day period will be charged accordingly. If we are unable to pick up your rented tank(s) during the arranged date and time frame, you will be charged $295 for each non-returned large tank or $155 for each non-returned small tank and $75 for the demurrage charge (manufacturer’s charge to us for not having the tanks returned to them within a certain time period).
After 3 days, if we receive each tank back, we will then refund you $295 per tank (by check or credit). If you are using our valves, in addition to the $295 per tank charge, there will be a $59.95 per valve charge, if not returned within 3 days after rental. This amount will also be refunded to you once we receive back your valve, in working order. These returns must be within a one month time frame from the date of order to qualify for the refund.
A monthly rental extension charge will automatically billed for each month a rental item is kept over its initial 4 week rental period for our business accounts ONLY.
**NOTE: ALL TANKS ARE RENTED "IN FULL" - NO CREDIT WILL BE GIVEN FOR TANKS PARTIALLY USED, RETURNED WITH PARTIAL CAPACITY OF HELIUM OR TANKS THAT ARE RETURNED COMPLETELY FULL.
Loss or Damage
Responsibility for equipment remains with the renter from time of receipt to time of return. Please be sure equipment is secured when not in use and is protected. Customers will be charged for missing and broken items. Check with the management of hired halls, convention centers, restaurants, etc. to make sure they will take care of our equipment for you before we have it delivered on your behalf.
Safety Warning
Customer’s ordering helium will be required to read, review and sign our Helium Safety Sheet. All helium tanks need to be secured; this is the renter's responsibility. Helium is a nontoxic, non flammable gas, however it is dangerous to breathe in the gas from the cylinder, or even from an inflated balloon. Inhaling helium gas directly from a high pressure tank can cause loss of consciousness or even permanent brain damage or death due to the effects of high pressured gas on internal body parts (throat, mouth, lungs, etc.)
